Burroughs descriveva il corpo umano<br \/>\ncome una \u201cmacchina morbida\u201d, sotto l\u2019assedio continuo \u201cdi un\u2019immensa schiera famelica di parassiti\u201d. Nell\u2019era del<br \/>\ncyborg la \u201cSoft Machine\u201d si \u00e8 trasformata ormai nell\u2019emblema del corpo. Nei racconti e nella realt\u00e0, gli umani e le<br \/>\nmacchine spesso si fondono in modi sorprendentemente nuovi, a volte problematici, portando avanti il discorso.<br \/>\nCon la loro mostra Invitation of the Soft Machine and Her Angry Body Parts, Jakob Lena Knebl e Ashley Hans<br \/>\nScheirl fanno risuonare in modo ludico e ironico vari aspetti dei discorsi contemporanei sul corpo. Knebl e Scheirl<br \/>\ntrasformano il padiglione austriaco ai Giardini in un palcoscenico aperto, che invita il pubblico a esplorare gli \u201cspazi<br \/>\ndel desiderio\u201d messi in scena dalla coppia di artisti\/e viennesi, che dispiegano in questo allestimento temporaneo<br \/>\ntutto il loro universo artistico: dipinti, sculture e fotografie, lavori tessili, scrittura e video, persino una collezione di<br \/>\nmoda e una rivista. La Soft Machine si materializza sotto forma di un \u201cessere espositivo\u201d nel senso letterale del<br \/>\ntermine, le cui singole parti si fondono in un tutto organico e vivo.
